Unlike most states, Medicaid ABA services in PA are coordinated through regional collaboratives, not direct payer credentialing. This changes the credentialing strategy.
PA Medicaid ABA is administered through regional Medicaid ABA Assessment Collaboratives (MAACs). You don't credential directly with Medicaid — you work through your regional MAAC. This is different from MI, FL, TX, and most other states.
Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are the two biggest markets. Harrisburg, Allentown, Reading, and Scranton are growing. Strong PE presence but independents can compete on quality.
