Yes. Illinois Medicaid has covered ABA-type services for children age 0 through 20 with autism spectrum disorder since November 1, 2020, now provided as Adaptive Behavior Support (ABS) services under both fee-for-service and managed care, subject to prior authorization.

Illinois Medicaid (HFS) has covered ABA-type services for children age 0 through 20 with ASD since November 1, 2020, now delivered as Adaptive Behavior Support (ABS) services under both fee-for-service and managed care, subject to prior authorization.

Enroll through IMPACT (Illinois Medicaid Program Advanced Cloud Technology). BCBAs enroll with the appropriate provider type/specialty; RBTs enroll as rendering/servicing providers.

Heads up: All individuals rendering ABS services — including those employed by a behavioral health clinic — must be enrolled in IMPACT. Get your enrollment approved before billing; you can't be reimbursed for services rendered before approval.
